Our latest website design project at Crazy Web Studio involved working with one of Phuket’s most exciting and exclusive beach club – Café del Mar. Located in Kamala, Café del Mar were seeking an upgrade on their outdated website and wanted to boost their online presence with a new, full solution website featuring a wide range of advanced solutions.
Our first step in this process was to understand the concept of Café del Mar and reflect that through the new web design. We worked closely with Café del Mar to discover the experience they provide for their customers and see how this could be reflected across their website. We also surveyed the interior of the beach club to create interactive maps for the advanced booking system that allows guests to reserve tables, seats, and event tickets.
Some of the major concepts found across the new website design include:
- A customized concept design, reflecting the chill out atmosphere found at Café del Mar
- A seamless user experience across the entire website, working perfectly on all devices
- An integrated booking system allowing easy reservation for events and direct tickets
- An interactive map for table and seat reservation at the beach club
- A modern, fast scroll concept for the food and drinks menu, integrating with the club menu via QR code
- Implementation of three languages – English, Thai, and Russian – with easy changing between languages
In addition to these main features, we also implemented custom fonts, graphics, and pictures throughout the website and created a color scheme to match the branding of Café del Mar.
Concept Design and User Experience
One of the most important elements we focused on when designing this new website for Café del Mar was the concept design and user experience. We wanted to bring across the stunning beauty of this location and maintain the brand message throughout the design. To this end, we utilized a structure of subheadings with script-style font in addition to clear, large font face for the main body text. We also implemented high-quality images and graphics throughout the website to bring the true feeling of Café del Mar to all website visitors. The navigation menu, responsiveness of the website, and loading speed are also important elements in the design that combine to enhance the overall user experience.
Event and Direct Ticket Booking
As a high-end, luxury beach club, Café del Mar offers a broad variety of packages, events, and booking options for guests. Implementing these options on the new website design presented a challenge in terms of presentation and functionality. To solve this problem while maintaining the user experience and branding of the website, we presented the booking options in large, custom image format for areas such as the pool cabana, pool sunbed, beach sofa, and beach sunbed. Guests can easily discover the specific details from each option, choose their preferred area for reservation, and pay online with a convenient payment gateway implemented into the checkout process.

Advanced Table Booking System
Café del Mar wanted to combine the ability to book and pay on their website with the ability to simply submit a booking request so that potential guests could gain more information about the area, club, or facilities before confirming. The booking inquiry section is also useful for customers who didn’t have the ability to pay online via the payment gateway. Our solution for this was to create a separate booking inquiry section that features an interactive map of the four main areas of Café del Mar. The map, similar to that of a concert ticket booking map, allows guests to choose exact seating and make a quick inquiry by completing a simple contact form. This section is ideal for lead generation with the interactive map increases leads generated.
Food & Drink Fast Scroll Concept with QR Code Integration
The food and drinks menus at Café del Mar are simply divine and we knew we must reflect this across the website when creating the online menus. Our first step was to create separate food and drink menus that mimic the menus guests will see when attending Café del Mar. Each item is clearly listed with pricing. We also added a nice touch of listing the potential allergens in each food dish with symbols underneath each dish that pop up the full list of potential allergens when clicked. This layout, known as a fast scroll concept, allows guests to scroll the menu directly quickly and easily on the website. However, the main feature of the food and drinks menu is the dedicated QR code which syncs with the tablet menu provided at Café del Mar, providing a seamless experience between the website and physical location.
Multi-Language Development
Phuket is one of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations and it was essential to create the website for Café del Mar in multiple languages to make it accessible for both locals and tourists. We implemented three languages across the website – English, Thai, and Russian – which are visible on every page. To make it easy for website visitors to view the site in their preferred language we added a flag-style language switcher to the main menu anchor at the top of the website with a dropdown for each language. We also added the language switcher to the footer of the website for ease of use. In addition to simply providing each page in English, Thai, and Russian, we also created best SEO practices for each language to assist with the organic ranking of the new Café del Mar website for a range of localized search terms.
Interactive reservation map
This exciting project was challenging for our web design team at Crazy Web Studio as it featured a number of advanced requirements to create the perfect online platform to represent Phuket’s best beach club. However, our team worked extremely hard to design the entire website from scratch including the concept, colors, fonts, customer graphic, user experience, booking system, online payment gateway, interactive map, localization into three languages, and much more.
